The people who fought for Zimbabwe's freedom are having money problems. The government hasn't given their office any cash since September 2024. They can't pay doctors or school fees. Albert Nguluvhe, who watches over these freedom fighters in Parliament, shared the bad news. Their office owes ZWG10 250 000 to doctors. They need ZWG6 518 811 for operations. Sick people who need special treatment like dialysis and cancer care need ZWG11 175 105 and ZWG3 026 591. The money set aside for 2025 won't be enough. They got ZWG121 840 000 for health care, but they need ZWG312 830 000. The cash will run out by May 2025. This is really hard because most of these old fighters are past 63 years old. They need lots of medical help. School fees are another big worry. The office got ZWG137 223 000 to help with education. They should have gotten ZWG315 255 000. Most of that money will pay old bills from 2024. They'll only have ZWG26 255 533.84 left for new school fees. That's not even enough for one school term in 2025. They need to help 6,395 students go to school. Each term costs ZWG72 926 359. They still haven't paid ZWG110 976 466.16 from last year's school fees. This includes money they owe from all three terms in 2024. The office did get more money than before - it went up from ZWG238,143,000 to ZWG970,517,000. But Nguluvhe says it's still not enough to take care of everyone. Petros Sibanda speaks for some of these freedom fighters. He wants the government to give more money right away. He says many fighters who were checked in 2022 haven't gotten any help yet. He thinks these heroes deserve better care after fighting for their country's freedom.
