Marley Tavaziva replaced Chipezeze for his first national team appearance during the second half. Niger scored from a penalty kick during the 71st minute to tie the game. Walter Musona nearly scored the winning goal for Zimbabwe when his shot hit the crossbar seven minutes later. Khama Billiat and Terence Dzvukamanja entered the game during the 79th minute to help Zimbabwe attack more. Both teams tried hard but neither could score again before the final whistle.
