Teams continue building projects at 11 other locations such as Kagadi and Nazigo. The main water network reaches over 1,200 urban areas across Uganda. Rural communities use more than 2,000 gravity flow systems for their water needs.

Government reforms started changing water services back during 2001. Officials wanted better efficiency and lower costs for citizens. The ministry added private companies and local water authorities to improve operations. Uganda aims to bring clean water access to every village. Current sanitation levels show 74 percent of people have pit latrines at their homes.
