WeissKlang built KlangFormer 2 completely in-house, and the upgraded plug-in lets its V13 modeling mic pass for a whole range of other mics. It drops at the same time as the V13 Special Edition, a limited batch of the mic finished in sleek black.

Out of the box, the V13 sounds pretty neutral. KlangFormer 2 gives it 11 switchable color modes that mimic transformer outputs, ribbons, tube mics, and other flavors, with saturation and harmonic distortion reproduced authentically.

Intensity sets how much of that color gets blended in, basically a dry/wet knob. Air adds lift up top for a more open high end, and Proximity reins in the bass buildup from getting close, tuned specifically for the V13.

There's also a calibrated VU meter to watch output levels, along with independent controls for input and output. WeissKlang recommends running the mic through the cleanest preamp available for the best results.

Compatibility covers Windows 10 and up, as well as macOS 12 or newer, with VST3, AU, and AAX versions ready to go.

The Special Edition goes for €349 instead of the usual €499, but only for a short window. Anyone with a V13 can grab KlangFormer 2 for free.
