Kenya Kwanza started later, in June 2022. Eleven groups, including UDA, joined to make Kenya Kwanza. Four more groups joined Kenya Kwanza after the election in September 2022.

In October last year, Mr Wetang'ula said Kenya Kwanza would lead Parliament. This happened because fourteen members left Azimio and joined Kenya Kwanza. The court later said Mr Wetang'ula broke the rules when he made this change. The court told him he needed better reasons to change who leads Parliament.
