The most comprehensive free DAW is Bandlab.

I don't use it, but I tried it out for a while and it has everything you could need. All the other programs mentioned are free, cut-down versions with limitations. If you are learning then it makes sense to go with one of those.

There are a couple of free DAWS which are good for music production and you can decide for yourself between:
  • Presonus Studio One Prime
  • Avid Pro Tools First
  • Cakewalk by BandLab
Of course, there are many other free music production software programs and to be honest they kinda suck compared to the ones I have listed above.
