The most comprehensive free DAW is Bandlab.

I don't use it, but I tried it out for a while and it has everything you could need. All the other music production programs mentioned are free, cut-down versions with limitations. If you are learning then it makes sense to go with one of those.

It's just a beat-making music program lol.

Bottom line: Yes it's okay for beats or instrumentals. Apple Logic Pro and Pro Tools are way better at recording vocals live instruments and mixing sessions.

There's no best music production software. Each has its own specialty.
