I know both are bass enhancementplug-ins but what's the underlying difference between Waves Audio Renaissance Bass and MaxxBass? And which one is better, particularly for audio mastering?
Waves Audio Maxxbass is actually the opposite of Renaissance bass.
MaxxBass is designed to create audible harmonics above the fundamental, thus allowing for sub-frequency information to be a little more audible on smaller speakers and devices that cannot reproduce subfrequencies. In contrast, the RBass plug-in can extend the lower end of a fundamental frequency and harmonics downward.
