Minister Nyesom Wike announced that President Tinubu's government finished building 150 kilometers of roads across rural areas around Abuja. The work happened during 2024 and 2025 to help people living outside the main city. Wike spoke about this progress during a ceremony on Monday when officials opened a new road connecting A2 Junction to Pai community. The road project shows how the government wants to improve life for people living in smaller towns around the capital. This particular road was one of 17 special projects celebrating Tinubu's second year as president. The new 15-kilometer road from A2 Junction to Pai was built as an emergency project after another contract was awarded. Workers are still building the Pai to Gumani road that stretches another 15 kilometers and should finish before December ends. Officials also gave out contracts for a 13-kilometer road connecting Gumani to Yangoji village. All three road sections will create a 45-kilometer stretch of new pavement for local communities. President Tinubu approved six emergency road projects across each area council around the federal capital territory. Government teams completed and opened all six emergency roads as planned. The finished projects include roads ranging from 5 to 11 kilometers long across different area councils. Wike promised that 2025 will bring even more road openings around Gwagwalada, Nyanya-Karshi, and other communities. These new roads help rural families travel easier and make the entire region safer from crime. The minister challenged doubters to visit these roads and see the real progress happening across satellite towns.
