A court in Enchi will decide on April 23 what happens to Ruth Arthur, who allegedly burned her ex-boyfriend's property. The 36-year-old trader already admitted guilt with an explanation for breaking in, causing damage, and stealing. The judge set her bail at GH¢30,000 with two people needed as guarantors.
Police prosecutor Stephen Offei Asante said David Anni, an Okada rider from Amonie, dated Ruth for two years. After their baby died, her family opposed their relationship, which ended their companionship. On March 3, 2025, David learned from a friend that Ruth had entered his room during a wedding he attended. He rushed home to find his GH¢22,000 cash missing.
Ruth allegedly ruined many items, including a TV, fan, speakers, decoder, and mattress. She also destroyed kitchen equipment, with total damages reaching GH₵27,019. Police visited the scene, where they found burnt belongings. During questioning, Ruth confessed to the crime, leading to her arrest and court appearance.
