A minister from Djibouti named Mohamoud Ali Youssouf won a very important job in Africa. He beat Raila Odinga from Kenya after many people voted at a big meeting in Ethiopia. Raila tried his best but only 22 people picked him. The meeting brought many changes. The countries picked a new boss named João Lourenço from Angola. He took over from Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani who came from Mauritania. Three people wanted the big job at first. These were Raila from Kenya, Richard from Madagascar, and Mohamoud from Djibouti. Richard left early because he had few votes. Then Raila and Mohamoud kept trying until Raila stopped in the sixth round of voting. Some people in Kenya feel sad that Raila did not win. Other people think he can come back home and maybe try to become Kenya's president in 2027. Mohamoud will take over from someone named Moussa Faki Mahamat who led for many years. Mohamoud starts his new job at a hard time. Many places in Africa need help. There are fights in Congo and Sudan. Some countries have money problems because America stopped giving them help. Important people came to the meeting. António Guterres from the United Nations asked everyone to work harder to stop fighting in Africa. He wants African countries to be friends and help each other make peace. Mohamoud has a lot of work to do. He needs to make Africa safer and help countries make more money. He wants Africa to become stronger and more important in the world.
