ZACC grabs 30M stolen loot as crooks face brutal justice

Zimbabwe's team that fights stealing and cheating helped save a lot of money last year. They found more than 30 million dollars that bad people had taken. These special helpers work hard to catch people who steal and make them give the money back.

The team did a really good job catching the bad guys. They looked into 470 cases where people might have done something wrong. They won most of their cases in court, catching 43 people who did bad things. Only 15 people were found not guilty.

Many people in Zimbabwe want to help stop stealing. More than 12,000 people made special promises to be honest and good. Many offices and places where people work started new groups to ensure everyone followed the rules and stayed honest.

A big group called Transparency International gave Zimbabwe a score about how honest the country is. They said Zimbabwe needed to do better and gave it 21 points out of 100. This was lower than last year when they gave 24 points.

The leader of Zimbabwe's anti-stealing team, Mr. Reza, thinks these scores do not tell the whole story. He believes some rich countries that got better scores are not helping as much as they should. These countries keep stolen money in their banks and do not help give it back. Mr. Reza says all countries need to work together to stop stealing and cheating. He wants everyone to help each other make things better, not just point fingers at others.
