Zambia's government tech team started showing their brand new computer system at the Health Ministry building. The SMART Zambia Institute built this digital tool to replace old paper filing methods. Workers demonstrated how the system manages official documents and makes office tasks easier. Health Ministry staff watched as experts explained how everything works electronically. The new technology will connect offices from provinces down to local districts. Gilcent Mwanakwampwe from SMART Zambia explained that other government departments will receive similar systems later. The Public Service Management Division and Finance Ministry are next on the list. Education Ministry and National Archives will also switch to digital record keeping. Government commissions across the country will eventually use these electronic tools. Luapula Province becomes the testing ground because they already have proper internet connections. Goodson Kamanga works as Assistant Director at the Health Ministry and praised the new approach. He said digital filing will make their work much faster and reduce mistakes. The ministry handles thousands of documents every day and often loses important papers. Electronic storage will help workers find files quickly and keep better track of everything. Administrative errors should decrease once people stop using manual systems. Government officials expect to save around 400 million kwacha just from buying less paper and ink. Lost files and mixed up records have caused problems for years. The digital system will make government offices more transparent and accountable to citizens. Electronic workflows will replace slow manual processes that waste time and money.
