Police seek a Zengeza landlord who beat his tenant to death after a rental dispute. Crispen Marara fled following the assault that killed Tendai Nenguwo. The trouble began when Nenguwo collected $560 from tenants at a Hanga Street property but spent the money himself instead of giving it to Marara. Angered by this, Marara gathered four men who repeatedly hit Nenguwo with fists and a broom handle. The injured tenant later died at Chitungwiza Central Hospital on Sunday.
Inspector Luckmore Chakanza from Harare police confirmed they're investigating the murder case. The victim was 38 years old. His sister, Yvette Masango, told reporters that her brother had complained about chest pain after the beating. She explained he didn't report these assaults because he felt guilty about taking the money. Masango said her brother leaves behind two children, including one in Grade 7. The family plans to bury Nenguwo tomorrow in Chihota village.
