Zimbabwe football leaders started a new program to find players in the United Kingdom with Zimbabwean roots. The London embassy promised full help for this effort called Roots & Dreams. Embassy official Elisha Karodza spoke for Ambassador Christian Katsande at meetings held in London on Tuesday and Birmingham on Wednesday. ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi led the events with national coach Michael Nees. The diaspora committee chair, Marshal Gore, joined them to meet UK-based players, families supporters. Karodza warned everyone about fake agents who try to take money from players. He said the embassy can help directly with passports and identification cards without third parties. Players should come straight to the embassy rather than pay processing fees to others. The embassy staff stands ready to assist with all paperwork needs. Karodza reminded players that they must earn their spot on national teams through hard work. Zimbabwe already benefits from UK-based talents like Tendai Darikwa, Jordan Zemura Tawanda Maswanhise. Many more players with Zimbabwean heritage remain untapped across Britain. Magwizi told the crowds that ZIFA has changed its ways. The old system, where players were paid to represent their country, has ended. ZIFA wants transparent connections with all Zimbabweans worldwide. Football leaders have contacted the English FA about working together. This partnership could create clear paths for young players' development. It might lead to coach exchanges, training programs, and governance improvements. Both sides could learn from each other through this relationship. Such teamwork would help Zimbabwe football grow stronger at home and abroad.
