Zimbabwe Air Force Sees New Leaders Rise Through Ranks. President Mnangagwa picked 27 Air Force officers for higher jobs yesterday. He leads the nation's armed forces and makes these choices under the law. The changes brought up two officers to Air Commodore rank. Eleven more became Group Captains. Another 16 moved up to Wing Commander spots. Two of these officers work far from home right at the task. Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede spoke at the event in Harare. He said these new jobs help Zimbabwe reach its 2030 plans. The Air Force wants strong leaders who prove their worth. "People must earn their place," Nzvede told the crowd. "The Air Force needs fresh ideas to beat tough times." He wants leaders who think smart and work hard. Air Commodore Morris Mujikwa was glad about his new rank. He promised to care for the people under him. His goal? To make them want to serve Zimbabwe well. Group Captain Lysinda Mahere expressed her thanks. She wants more women to work hard like she did, as "Hard work leads to success. " Mahere plans to help make Zimbabwe richer by 2030. The ceremony took place at the Josiah Magama Tongogara army base. Leaders there said each person must show they deserve their new rank through good work. These changes mark big steps for Zimbabwe's air force. The new leaders face big tasks ahead as they guide their teams toward the country's plans.
