Acting President Constantino Chiwenga will lead the funeral for national hero Justin Mupamhanga on Monday. The burial will take place at the National Heroes Acre in Harare. President Mnangagwa is on his annual leave. So Dr. Chiwenga will fill in for him. The Acting President's wife, Colonel Miniyothabo Chiwenga, will also attend. Mr. Mupamhanga died on Wednesday at a hospital in Harare. He was a former Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet who dedicatedly served his country. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage shared details about the funeral plans. On Friday, Mr. Mupamhanga's body was flown to his farm in Matepatepa. It will lie there before moving to another farm in Mt Darwin. On Saturday, the body will return to Harare. It will lie at Charles Gumbo Barracks. A church service will be held on Sunday to honor him. The public is invited to attend the burial on Monday. Gates at the National Heroes Acre will open at 6 a.m., and mourners should be seated by 7 a.m. Mr. Mupamhanga was known as a successful and passionate farmer. His knowledge and practices inspired others, and neighbors described him as a role model. He had a diverse farm with dairy, poultry, pigs, fish, and crops. An agriculture official said he left a legacy and helped transform many farms. The Minister of State for Mashonaland Central said the province lost a loyal leader. He thanked President Mnangagwa for honoring Mr. Mupamhanga. The Home Affairs Minister praised the late hero. He said war veterans like Mr. Mupamhanga improved the lives of Zimbabweans. Mr. Mupamhanga's body will lie at his rural home in Mt. Darwin before the burial on Monday. The nation will gather to remember his service and dedication.
