Zimbabwe REITs Changing How We Invest in Property

Zimbabwe creates REITs through official papers called Notarial Deeds of Trust. These special investment groups must follow rules set by the government back in 1998 and updated again in 2019. The Securities and Exchange Commission watches these companies closely as they buy, sell, and manage buildings across the country.

Several key players make these investments work properly. Each REIT needs a trustee who keeps important documents safe and speaks up for everyone who puts money into the fund. Anyone who buys even a single unit becomes an official investor with certain rights. A manager handles daily decisions about which properties to buy or sell for the best returns.

Many REITs create advisory boards to guide these managers. These boards include the person who started the fund, people representing investors, and outside experts who know the real estate market well. Together they make plans about where to invest money next and how to handle properties already owned.

REITs help solve Zimbabwe's need for better buildings. They let everyday people invest in shopping centers, factories, and office spaces that earn money. Investors receive regular payments from rent collected across these properties. This system helps build better structures around Zimbabwe and lets regular citizens benefit from commercial real estate without buying entire buildings themselves.
