[QUOTE="Nehanda, post: 28651, member: 2262"] Mr. Elias Magosi said yesterday that Zimbabwe has won the hearts of SADC officials through its amazing welcome and rich culture. SADC staff feel right at home when they visit, which shows how much influence Zimbabwe has gained since taking over as chair of the regional group last August. Many SADC workers have fallen in love with the country during their stays. Since leading the group after the 44th Summit, Zimbabwe has welcomed lots of SADC meetings. These gatherings let visitors enjoy real Zimbabwean experiences first-hand. Mr. Magosi mentioned that Harare feels like home to many SADC workers because of how warmly they were treated. He praised Zimbabwe for helping everyone connect with local people and learn about their ways. The SADC boss thanked President Mnangagwa's government for their perfect hosting and great meeting spaces. He said Zimbabwe raised the bar high for other countries that will lead SADC next. Madagascar comes next as chair, and Mr. Magosi thinks they watched Zimbabwe closely to learn how things should work. He expects they might match Zimbabwe's standard but doubts they can do better. Under President Mnangagwa, SADC made big progress on several projects. The group gained full control of its headquarters building in Botswana, which had been under shared management for 15 years. President Mnangagwa and Botswana's President Boko accepted the impressive building together on December 13, 2024. The tall structure stands proudly near downtown Gaborone. That same day, both leaders started construction on a new military supply center in Rasesa Village, Botswana. This facility will help SADC send troops quickly for peacekeeping and emergency help. The group already has equipment from missions in Mozambique and Congo ready to store there. Mr. Magosi stressed that keeping peace remains essential for business growth across southern Africa.
