His legal action demanded a forensic audit of the music rights organization. Chipfumbu discovered problems when he visited the court six days later. He found that Ncube had submitted false paperwork to court officials.

The fraudulent document was a CR6 form dated April 12, 2023, that had never been properly registered. The Department of Deeds, Companies and Intellectual Property had no record of this paperwork. Chipfumbu reported the incident to police after making his discovery. The legitimate CR6 document for Zimbabwe Music Rights Association was finally registered on January 15 of last year. This registration happened only after Chipfumbu had already filed his complaint with law enforcement officers.
