Four Zimbabwe Media Commission workers faced a judge Friday because they stole millions of dollars worth of gas. Godwin Phiri heads the ZMC staff team. The workers claimed the office received every gas card but actually wrote down just 45,120 liters. Their lie helped them steal 59,856 liters of gas worth ZWL54,836,704.95. Nobody found that missing gas later. During their second stealing job, they used identical tricks. Phiri approved ZWL51 million sent to different bank accounts. The group changed that cash into foreign money. An office check-up found what happened.
