The Harare City Council faces serious claims about cattle theft. Reports say thieves take about 100 cattle each month from the city's farm areas. These details emerged at a public hearing where the city's suspended town clerk, Engineer Hosiah Chisango, gave testimony.
The person leading the investigation, Mr Thabani Mpofu, asked Engineer Chisango about missing cattle from a city farm. This farm usually holds around 3,000 animals.
