Thousands of people walked through Dhaka streets today to honor a religious leader who died long ago. The march started at the old Hosni Dalan Imambara building that has stood for 400 years. Crowds dressed in black clothes carried fake knives and dark flags as they moved through the city. The procession wound through Azimpur, Nilkhet, New Market and Science Laboratory before reaching Dhanmondi. Many participants showed their sadness for Imam Hussain who was killed centuries ago.
