Girl Guides Go Epic at Ongwediva Meetup
Girl Guides members met at Ongwediva on Saturday to mark World Thinking Day about Our Story. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, a former guide, joined them and talked about what being a guide meant to her life. She said guides learn courage, teamwork, and helping others. The group has worked with girls for more than 100 years. Nandi-Ndaitwah spoke about skills guides learn, like tying knots and singing camp songs. She believes groups like guides teach children important life lessons outside school. These activities help young people become caring citizens who take action. She thanked her family and teachers for letting her join the Guides as a child. The president told the young guides they can make Namibia better for everyone.

Oshana Towns Under 24/7 Cop Cameras To Trap Thieves
Police plan to watch over three towns with new cameras to stop crime. The cameras will run all day long in places where many bad things happen. Officers will see what happens on the streets, at stores, and in shopping areas from a special room. They can talk to the police walking around these areas when they see trouble. Workers have already set up cameras in Oshakati and will add them in Ongwediva and Ondangwa soon. Police leader Joseph Shikongo told people about these plans at Adolf village on Friday. He wants everyone in the Oshana region to feel safe when they walk outside. The police aim to catch anyone who tries to hurt others or steal things. Shikongo believes these cameras will help keep peace throughout the area. During the...

He talked with local business owners about ways his office can help small companies grow. During his trip around the area, Nangombe looked at many work sites and learned about what these companies need from the government to succeed. Rehoboth Rises in Virtual Walk After Okahandja Killings
Rehoboth people walked five kilometers on Saturday to honor murder victims from Okahandja. They gathered at Kaap Agri early morning and headed toward Oanob Dam on the gravel road. Step Up Ark Community Organization arranged this virtual walk for hope and healing. Martha McNab founded this nonprofit to support those affected by violence. The group aims to build a shelter for women and children facing danger. Walkers meet each Saturday in May to share stories and show support. They want to break the silence around violence at home and create safer communities. McNab walked across the Hardap region herself in 2023 as a personal journey. Her experience showed her how walking opens hearts and starts important talks. Community member Margrit...
Erongo Crisis Sees 10401 Social Woes 11 Percent GBV
Erongo leader Neville Andre shared that health workers found over 10,400 social issues among families from April 2024 to March 2025. About 11 percent of these problems came from violence against women or men. Andre wants more reports from groups that handle such cases to see better what happens across the area. He believes some people who harm others might have mental health issues or bad childhood experiences. He thinks local groups should study why violence occurs in their areas. Andre feels sad when people die from violence since it takes away their safety. He calls for teamwork to fix these serious problems. He says the government, community helpers, and regular people must join forces to create lasting changes in how people think...
Windhoek Hospital Bill Balloons to 3.2 Billion
The Namibian health ministry raised the cost for the new Windhoek District Hospital to N$3.2 billion from N$2.9 billion. The 500-bed hospital will serve people living in the Havana informal settlement. It aims to reduce pressure on Katutura Intermediate Hospital as more people move to the city. Officials say hospitals need lots of money for water, electricity, sewers, and roads before building can start. The higher price covers both the main building and these support systems. The hospital will offer many services for patients who stay overnight and those who come for the day. It will have a pharmacy, X-ray department, outpatient care, kitchen, and laundry areas. The location helps people from underserved areas get better healthcare...
RX 9070 XT Flies Off Shelves Nvidia 60 Series Struggles
AMD leads the pack as German store Mindfactory sold 355 units of the RX 9070 XT last week. The card remains popular despite selling above its suggested price because it costs less than the RTX 5070 Ti. Customers bought 165 units of the older RX 7800 XT during the same period. NVIDIA saw 140 sales of its new RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB memory. The RTX 5060 Ti version with 8GB of memory almost completely failed to attract buyers. Memory size appears to drive customer choices in the current market. The RTX 5080 performed well, with 135 units sold at Mindfactory. Other NVIDIA RTX 50 cards showed decreasing sales numbers down the product line. Intel surprised analysts as its ARC B570 and B580 cards outsold the RTX 4060 Ti. The RX 7800 XT remains...
AMD UDNA5 Poised to Dethrone NVIDIA in Ray Tracing
AMD wants to make better ray tracing for its next computer chips. The company filed many patents about this technology during the past two years, showing that AMD aims to catch up with NVIDIA in gaming graphics. The RX 9070 series has already gained fans because it offers good value for money. AMD needs better ray tracing, not just for computers but also for PlayStation game systems. A person on Reddit found these patents and explained what they mean. AMD works on something called BVH management that finds similar objects in game scenes and compresses them. This saves computer power and makes games run faster. The company also improves how rays move through game worlds to create realistic lighting. AMD might soon match what NVIDIA can...
