A judge sentenced Bigboy Nampungo to 60 years behind bars after he robbed the family of businessman Wicknell Chivayo. The 27-year-old from Chitungwiza admitted guilt for six armed robbery charges. He stole $74,000 cash plus valuables from Chivayo's relatives at their Marondera farm. The court decided Nampungo will actually spend 30 years locked up because half his punishment runs at the same time.
Eight other men allegedly helped Nampungo but claim they did nothing wrong. Their names are Garikai Shangwa, Temptation Dinhidza, Arnold Tafirei, Tawanda Mushayatu, Mike Mhaka, Maramba Vhiya and Takudzwa Maisvoreva. The court told these men to come back on April 10.
