Arnold Zingwena shines in solar energy success
Arnold Zingwena heads Tenga Solar and just made Zimbabwe's Top 40 Under 40 list of influential young leaders. His company is the only solar business among these rising stars, marking it as a key player in renewable energy across the country. Zingwena is grateful for this honor and stays focused on changing how energy works throughout Zimbabwe. He believes solar power should deliver results, not just look good. He built his brand by making sure customers come first, offering quality solar solutions at fair prices. This approach pushed Tenga Solar to lead Zimbabwe's move toward clean energy. The country faces regular power shortages, making solar energy critically important. Zingwena aims to decrease dependence on traditional electricity...
Notepad Gets Smarter with Copilot
Notepad has changed a lot lately after staying pretty much the same for over 30 years. This simple Windows text editor could hardly do anything except open and save text files until recently. Back in 2022, Microsoft finally added tabs, allowing users to work with several documents at the same time. They also switched Notepad from the old Win32 system to the newer UWP format. Last year, Microsoft upgraded all Windows accessories, including Notepad spelling and grammar checks. Their newest addition puts Copilot right inside Notepad. You can find a special Copilot button on the main toolbar. Press it, and you'll see choices for improving text—you can rewrite everything, make text longer or shorter, change how it sounds, or even fix up the...
Social media protest calls are just empty noise
Nobody expects many people to join the protests called for today. The man behind them used to belong to the Zimbabwe War Veterans group and served in the Zanu PF party leadership. Both groups turned down his ideas, leaving him without much support. Most citizens hadn't heard his name before he started posting online. The social media accounts cheering him on look fishy. Many come from unknown groups that may not exist. These "organizations" often turn out to be just a few buddies or even one person making fake accounts. Past events show that nothing big will happen today. No major opposition leaders back these protests, and most Zimbabweans avoid violent street actions. Stories saying officials might block downtown areas aren't true...
Dynamos break winless streak with one goal against Simba
The Dynamos finally scored a goal after three long weeks. The team beat current champions Simba Bhora 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium yesterday, possibly changing their season's direction. Midfielder Shadreck Nyahwa became an unexpected hero by putting the ball into an empty net. This happened when Simba Bhora defenders William Thole and Isheanesu Mauchi made a huge mistake in the 54th minute. The crowd roared with happiness when Nyahwa scored. The Dynamos players had failed to score in four straight games before this match. Lloyd Chigowe, the Dynamos coach, felt happy about his team following instructions. He knew Simba Bhora wanted revenge after losing to Dynamos in the Castle Challenge Cup. His plan worked - they waited for their chance and...
Toyota backs Rwashande against Ssekikubo in Lwemiyaga
Michael Nuwagira Kaguta, known by most people as Toyota, wants Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rwashande to replace Theodore Ssekikubo as Lwemiyaga County's representative in Parliament. Toyota happens to be President Museveni's brother, which adds weight to his political backing. He stood before crowds at a recent rally and declared he would block Ssekikubo from winning another term. The race already looks like it will become intense. Toyota attacked Ssekikubo directly during his speech. "Ssekikuubo has lied for a very long time. The time for his lies is over," he told the audience. He claimed the current representative failed to help the area progress. Toyota dismissed the idea that Ssekikubo cannot be beaten, calling it outdated thinking. He...

Rwandan trucker dies after losing control in Kabale
A truck crash took the life of a young man from Rwanda last Saturday morning. The 23-year-old driver, named Muhire, died right away when his big rig flipped over. He lived in Kigali but never made it back home. The accident happened around 8:30 AM near Kyanamira trading center on the road connecting Mbarara and Kabale. Police officer Elly Maate told reporters that Muhire drove a silver Sino truck with license plate RAF186I/RL4013. The driver lost control as he headed toward Kabale town. Nobody else rode with him in the vehicle. After the crash, Officer Cpl. Kambale Isaac brought a police team to check what happened. They sent Muhire's body to Kabale Hospital for doctors to examine. According to the police report, brake problems caused...
Uganda oil deal shakes up refinery scene
Uganda just gave UNOC a big chunk of the new oil deal. The national company will control 40 percent of the refinery project. Alpha MBM Investments from UAE signed papers for the other 60 percent. The signing happened on March 29 at the President's house in Entebbe. President Museveni watched as officials put pen to paper. This agreement follows earlier talks that began in December last year. The real work started mid-January when teams hammered out details. Construction plans include a huge oil plant that handles 60,000 barrels daily. The project brings more than just a refinery to Hoima District. Workers will build a modern storage area in the Mpigi District. A long pipeline stretching 212 kilometers will connect these sites. They'll...
UPDF thinks about leaving Lubero to chase ADF remnants
Uganda might pull its army out of Lubero in Congo. Army leaders want to chase ADF fighters who ran away to North Kivu and Ituri provinces instead. Colonel Chris Magezi told reporters about these plans last Sunday. He heads public relations for the Ugandan military right. The army needs to move because beaten ADF groups keep running deeper into Congo when Uganda and Congo soldiers attack them. The military first put troops in Bunia, Mahagi, and Fataki earlier this year to block escaping fighters. But these bad guys spread across a huge area, making it hard to catch them all. Uganda may need extra soldiers to cover more ground. Commanders will decide soon whether to leave Lubero completely. The ADF began as a Ugandan rebel group but...
