Veterans want Mnangagwa out
War veterans from Zimbabwe have asked President Emmerson Mnangagwa to resign from office. These veterans belong to the ruling Zanu-PF Party and claim the president shows favoritism to family members, allows corruption, and has failed to fix the country's dying economy. Leaders of the Zanu-PF Party say they aren't taking these demands seriously. Blessed Runesu Geza spoke at an online press conference. He fought in Zimbabwe's freedom wars of the 1960s and 1970s and sits on Zanu-PF's central committee. Geza demanded the president leave office right away. He said Mnangagwa hasn't kept promises he made back in 2017 when the army helped him take power. Many fighters who died for the country's freedom don't have proper graves, Geza...
Mnangagwa Moves Army Chief Sanyatwe to Cabinet Role
Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa has removed Lt. General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces. Martin Rushwaya, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, made this known in a statement today. The retirement happens immediately. Sanyatwe moved straight from his job as Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army to become the Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts, and Culture. The President based these changes on section 216 and section 340 of Zimbabwe's Constitution plus section 115 of the Defence Act. He acted both as President and Commander in Chief when making these decisions. This marks the second time Sanyatwe has left the military. Back in 2019, he retired and became Zimbabwe's ambassador to Tanzania...
March 31 Movement Zimbabwe (M31)
Zimbabwe faces a significant political event scheduled for 31 March. War veterans loyal to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga plan a nationwide protest against President Emmerson Mnangagwa. They call this event the 31 March Movement. The movement's goal is to demand that President Mnangagwa step down due to accusations of corruption and poor governance. The movement's leaders chose this date carefully. It symbolizes unity and action among supporters of Chiwenga, who feel betrayed by Mnangagwa's leadership. Many Zimbabweans see similarities between the current tensions and the political situation in 2017. Back then, protests led to President Robert Mugabe's removal from power. Who is Blessed Geza, and Why Does He Matter? Blessed...

SADC region gears up for future work skills
Zimbabwe and nearby countries need better job training programs, according to a top official. Speaking at Victoria Falls yesterday, Mr. Simon Masanga told government leaders that employment drives growth across southern Africa. Masanga leads the Public Service Department and chairs employment matters for the entire SADC region. He believes technical skills should become a main focus throughout education systems. Kids should learn practical skills from elementary school through college. The SADC area must invest in technical schools that teach abilities employers actually want. Digital technology is changing how businesses operate everywhere today. Schools and companies need to discuss more what skills really matter for jobs. The...
Zhomba High Shuts Down Over Spiritual Scare
Students at Zhomba High School started acting really strange, and school leaders had to send everyone home. This happened in Gokwe after kids began showing bizarre behaviors that people believed might be caused by spirits. It started with just one student on Monday, but seven more students showed the same weird symptoms very quickly. The problem became serious enough that school officials felt they had no choice but to close. Mr. Martin Musakanda runs the Gokwe North District and said officials were heading to the school to check things out. The school principal, Mr. Washington Chikunichawa, made the call to send the students away because their actions scared other kids. Local chiefs planned a meeting to figure out what steps to take...

His capture happened right after authorities charged prison officer Donald Madzinga, 39, with helping two inmates flee. The second prisoner, Richard Marondera, barely made it past the courtroom before guards grabbed him. Both men face trial for armed robberies, including a February 2024 heist at Quest Financial Services, where they allegedly grabbed $720,000. Court records show that Madzinga took $700 to assist with the escape...
