Five people signed up to run for office in the Glenview South special election on April 12. They all turned in their papers Thursday at the official Nomination Court in Harare. Court officer Fiona Kurima checked and approved every candidate who applied.
The approved candidates come from different political backgrounds. Three people decided to run without party support as independents: Chakeredza Tonderai, Tungamirai Madzokere, and George Makwangwaidze. The other two represent political parties: Perpetua Mukanda from the NCA party and Tsitsi Tawomhera from the ZANU PF party.
