ASUS Tweaks PCIe to Prevent GPU Scratches
ASUS just changed how PCIe slots work on their newest motherboards. Only ASUS China admitted they fixed their Q-Release Slim PCIe system for taking out graphics cards easily. This newer design makes you pull your card from one place instead of pushing a button first. Many people found this caused problems because their computer cases lacked space, which led to scratched GPU connectors. The scratches might seem minor since your card still runs fine. But when these marks show up on pricey cards like RTX 5090 or 4090 models, it makes ASUS boards look bad. Your expensive GPU loses value just because you removed it once from your computer. ASUS has already started fixing this issue, as seen on their APEX motherboard with the X870E chipset...
G Flip 370 mini PC with 5 inch flip screen turns heads
PC screens are appearing everywhere these days. You can find them on CPU coolers, graphics cards, and computer cases. They display system data and other information. Mini-PCs usually have very basic screens that just show clocks or system stats. Aoostar decided to change all that by adding a complete screen to their mini-PC. They created something called the G-Flip 370. This computer flips open like a laptop. It runs on the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip with twelve Zen 5 cores and Radeon 890M graphics built right in. The company claims this mini-PC can handle video editing and 3D modeling tasks. That seems pretty unlikely since the screen measures only 5 inches across. The display offers full HD resolution at 1920×1080 pixels. At...
RX 9070 XT Beats Competition in 4K and 1440p
AMD just showed us how fast their new RX 9070s graphics cards really are with their latest RDNA4 technology. The RX 9070 XT runs games 42% faster than the RX 7900 GRE at 4K resolution with all the graphics settings maxed out. AMD tested around 30 different games to come up with these numbers. The RX 9070 XT also plays games 38% faster at 1440p compared to the RX 7900 GRE. Looking at older cards, this new RX 9070 XT blows past the RX 6900 XT by 51% when playing at 4K with everything turned up. The regular RX 9070 beats the RX 7900 GRE by 21% at 4K Ultra and runs 38% faster than the RX 6800 XT. These speed tests mix regular games with games that use ray-tracing effects. AMD measured how the cards perform naturally without using their...
30 Days to Save Your Plot or Lose It
Bulawayo City Council just told 135 people they need to start building on their empty residential lots fast, or else. The council plans to take back these properties spread across Cowdray Park, Pumula South, and Luveve because nobody has built anything there for over two years. Town Clerk Christopher Dube wants these lot owners to visit their local housing office right away and explain why they haven't built anything yet. If they don't show up within 30 days, the council will grab those lots and give them to someone else from the waiting list. About 30 lots face repossession in the huge Cowdray Park area under the Hlalani Kuhle Housing Scheme. Another 59 empty lots might be taken away from their current owners in Luveve 4 and Pumula...
Makoni boosts youth skills with new training centres
Makoni district youth can look forward to better futures thanks to new job training centers coming their way. The government plans to build the Eaglesvale Vocational Training Centre at Inyati Mine and add a smaller learning spot at Chiwetu nearby. Young people across the area want practical skills like farming, woodworking, fixing cars, and metal crafts—these centers will teach all that. The province's main youth service training program will move from Vumba to Inyati Mine. Then, Vumba will become a place where students learn about running hotels and helping tourists. This matches what leaders want in their National Development Strategy plan. Inyati Mine already had many empty buildings left behind when mining stopped, which police...
Truck stops along Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway turn risky
Two young women wear tight clothes that show almost everything as they knock on truck doors at Gwayi Shopping Center. They try their luck along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway during early Friday morning hours. Music plays loudly inside nearby nightclubs, where people dance like the party just started. Many women hang around this temporary truck rest area where over a dozen trucks with local and foreign license plates have stopped. After knocking on four different trucks with no luck, one woman finally succeeds when a driver opens his door, and she jumps inside fast. Her friend keeps looking around, hoping she can find another trucker who wants company. Several truck stops exist on this highway starting at Amakhosi Service Station...
Mutare council says no to off-limit crops
Mutare City Council plans to stop people from growing crops in the wrong places. Mayor Simon Chabuka made this clear. They believe this step helps protect the environment and prevents flooding around town. Last week, city workers cut down fully grown corn in Sakubva's OTS Section. Many people criticized this action when videos spread online, saying the city acted harshly toward local farmers. At this week's meeting at the Civic Center, Mayor Chabuka explained the tough spot they face. They must balance protecting city land against letting hungry families grow extra food. He paid money to some farmers who lost crops but made clear he did this as an individual, not as part of his job as mayor. During the council meeting, Chabuka admitted...
Better Beef and Bigger Herds in Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe teams up with development groups to improve beef across the country. They want more cows and higher-quality meat as part of bigger farm improvements. The plan already builds water systems with drinking spots for cattle. Officials started this cattle growth plan two years back, hoping to jump from 5.5 million animals to 6 million by 2025. Davis Marapira spoke to farmers at Phillip Reeds Farm during a beef producer meeting. As Deputy Minister of Lands and Agriculture, he promised to help with issues hurting cattle returns. He called beef farming essential to jobs, rural money, and food security. The industry employs thousands of people and helps Zimbabwe feed itself without outside meat. Bad weather, sick animals, and market...
Tsholotsho set to host Independence Day celebrations
Tsholotsho welcomes people for Matabeleland North Independence Day celebrations this year. The government spreads these events across different areas each time. Last year Binga held this event, with Umguza hosting the year before that. The main national celebration happens in Gokwe, located in the Midlands Province. Everyone celebrates April 18 under the message "@45 Devolve and Develop Together Towards Vision 2030." Richard Moyo, who serves as Minister for the province, says Tsholotsho will see many benefits from this special day. They follow President Mnangagwa's plan to move big events around the country instead of keeping them in one place. Areas that host these celebrations often see better roads and new buildings. Workers must...
