Youngsters Step Up for a Cleaner Phalombe
Young people in Phalombe have stepped up to keep their communities clean thanks to a local group called Tiwasamale. The youth-centered organization recently cleaned the Phalombe Market area and fixed clogged drains around town. Their actions help fight waterborne illnesses like cholera through better sanitation. The group wants other young people across the district to join similar efforts. Gift Kasanga leads Tiwasamale as Executive Director and believes young citizens must take charge of community cleanliness. He told reporters after the cleanup that waiting for council workers limits what communities can achieve. Kasanga stressed that youth should view these activities as their duty rather than optional volunteer work. He wants them...

Chamisa on Zimbabwe Losing Its Bright Minds
Nelson Chamisa is really upset about Zimbabwe losing its smartest people to other countries. Every day for twenty years, he has watched talented Zimbabweans leave home to find better jobs elsewhere. This morning, he got four more calls from professionals planning to move away. He shared these thoughts on X, which many people still call Twitter. He described how painful it feels to wake up each day and hear from another person desperate to escape the country. These calls make him sad because people ask for help finding ways to leave Zimbabwe. They believe life must be better somewhere else. The country keeps losing the exact talent it spent money to educate and develop. Instead of making Zimbabwe stronger, these skilled workers...
Don't Use 2030 Resolution to Pick Fights, Says Muchinguri
ZANU PF boss Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri told party members to stop using Resolution Number 1 as a weapon against each other. This rule from their big meeting wants to keep President Emmerson Mnangagwa in charge until 2030. She talked to everyone at party headquarters last Thursday about how mad she was seeing people misuse this idea. Muchinguri-Kashiri complained that certain members act like they alone control this resolution, using it for personal gain. These few troublemakers take the 2030 slogan to start fights and create fake discipline issues among members. She demanded this behavior end right away, reminding everyone that the resolution belonged to the whole party, not just a few loud voices. As Defense Minister and a friend of...
Mayor Cracks Down on Fake Malls in Harare
Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume wants businesses to stop playing games with shop licenses. He announced stores can no longer divide their spaces into tiny shops and call the whole thing a mall just to dodge paying multiple fees. These fake malls must pay for each separate business operating inside them. The city defines real malls as places like Sam Levy's Village and Westgate Mall with single ownership. Many downtown businesses simply cut up their shops into smaller spaces and pretend they created something fancy. They name these divided spaces after family members and claim mall status to save money. Mayor Mafume sees through this trick and plans to enforce proper licensing for every business regardless of what they call themselves. Each...
Fix the economy so we don't have to sell on the streets
Former opposition lawmaker Fadzayi Mahere wants the Zimbabwe government to tackle the real problems behind the failing economy. She believes fixing these issues would create decent jobs, letting people earn money without selling goods on streets. Her comments came after officials ordered local authorities Wednesday to remove illegal vendors from city streets within 48 hours, especially those trading at night. Mahere pointed out that nobody chooses street selling as their dream job. People turn to vending because the massive unemployment crisis leaves them no other way to feed their families. She compared today's situation with the 1980s when Zimbabwe streets had very few vendors because the economy actually worked back then. At that...
Coach Nees Backs Arubi and Skips Chipezeze
Warriors coach Michael Nees made his stance crystal clear about goalkeeper choices. He plans to stick with Washington Arubi as his main keeper instead of bringing in Elvis Chipezeze, who plays for Magesi FC in South Africa. Despite Chipezeze showing great form lately, Nees remains loyal to Arubi because he helped Zimbabwe qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations. When talking to reporters Tuesday in Harare, Nees firmly backed Arubi. He explained how he brought both Arubi and Khama Billiat back to the national team when he felt something was missing. Both players exceeded what he hoped for and became key parts of the successful AFCON qualification campaign. Nees considers Arubi his definite first choice. The German coach believes...
