Dr. Frank Amoakohene promised local journalists he would build them a modern press center in the Ashanti Region. He made this pledge at a recent Ghana Journalists Association party held in Kumasi. The Regional Minister stressed that he really cares about finishing this project completely. He plans to head to Accra just ahead of the upcoming budget talk and meet with Hon. South African officials quickly fired back at these statements. The country explained how race plays zero part in business permits. Musk posted his complaint on X, the social media platform he runs. A top official from South Africa named Clayson Monyela answered directly. "Sir, that's NOT true," he wrote. Monyela explained companies must simply follow local rules, just like everywhere else around the world. What really happens involves laws helping historically disadvantaged groups. Foreign telecom businesses must sell thirty percent of local operations to these groups. News reports...

Women Build Financial Independence With Credit
Small businesses across Africa want local money to help close the gap between men and women in business financing. These companies believe better funding creates jobs and boosts the economy, especially as money from other countries keeps shrinking. Business leaders argue that every economic plan must include ways for women to succeed financially. Money problems affect how people feel mentally, according to Grace Wachori, who leads African programs at the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs. "Many people feel stuck in this country. Women keep asking themselves - how can I make enough money to live?" Wachori said during a Nairobi meeting. She points out that money troubles create a pattern where women make progress through...

NGEC Demands Reforms for Gender Equality in Kenya
The National Gender and Equality Commission wants big changes to help women across Kenya. Their leader, Rehema Jaldesa, spoke up during International Women's Day 2025, asking everyone to act fast on gender issues. The NGEC listed several important steps needed right away to knock down barriers women face every day. They believe these changes cannot wait any longer if Kenya wants real progress toward equality. The commission's top demand is that women hold at least one-third of leadership jobs. Current numbers show women represent just 23% of the National Assembly and 31% of the Senate, far below fair levels. Jaldesa believes equal representation matters because it brings different viewpoints to government decisions. The commission...
