Two people, a man and a woman who were likely in their late 20s or early 30s, were found on the Ethiopian side of the border. Search and rescue teams are still looking for other missing people.
The bodies were discovered hours after Kenyan authorities were allowed to enter the Ethiopian side, where the incident happened on Saturday. "Today, the team from the Kenyan side, working with their Ethiopian counterparts, accessed the area of the incident and are currently searching for the missing persons and 15 boats," said Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen in a statement earlier.
