Acer expects PC hardware costs to keep climbing before easing in the latter half of 2027. Chairman Jason Chen sees another 5% to 20% component jump during Q4 2026, with pricing potentially topping out around the middle of next year.
Memory looks less rough. Chen says DDR4 and DDR5 no longer face severe shortages, while CPU supply has improved apart from some budget and midrange models. Chipmakers are also adding more memory capacity, making a shortage lasting through 2030 unlikely in his view.
