Albanese Smashes Aussie Curse with Epic Election Win

Anthony Albanese won a second term as Australia's leader with a huge victory. Labor crushed the opposition Liberal-National coalition across the country. Albanese becomes the first prime minister to win back-to-back elections in over 20 years. His party will gain nine more seats for a total of 86. Peter Dutton lost his seat after 24 years.

Dutton took the blame for his party's defeat and said sorry to his members. Cost issues like healthcare and housing prices drove voter concerns during the campaign. International matters came up with questions about how Australia might deal with Donald Trump. Many saw Dutton as similar to Trump despite his efforts to shake off those comparisons. Australians seemed to prefer stability amid global uncertainty.

Albanese promised cheaper doctor visits and more affordable homes. He also pledged stronger climate action and better environmental protection. His large mandate lets Labor attempt bolder policies moving forward. The prime minister faced tough times earlier with record-low approval ratings. Voters ultimately chose Albanese's steady leadership over the opposition's approach.
