Algeria's top diplomat threw a party Saturday for his country's freedom day. Ambassador Dr Abdelouahab Saidani praised the friendship between Algeria and Bangladesh during the celebration. The event marked 63 years since Algeria broke free from French rule. Bangladesh's Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury attended as the main guest. Business leaders from both countries also joined the festivities. Saidani bragged about how tight the two nations have become over the years. He talked about new business deals and upcoming visits between government officials. The ambassador reminded everyone that Algeria was the first Arab nation to welcome Bangladesh as a friend back in 1971. Both countries work together on world issues and support each other at international meetings. The partnership keeps growing stronger each year. The celebration honored a massive victory against colonial powers. Algeria fought French rulers for eight brutal years from 1954 to 1962. The war ended 132 years of foreign control over the North African nation. Young Algerians led much of the fight for independence. The ambassador said their courage still inspires the country today. Cultural groups performed songs and dances during the party. Bangladesh Scouts entertained guests with patriotic shows. Boy Scouts and younger Cub Scouts sang traditional tunes. Local artists also participated in the cultural program. The performances highlighted the shared values between both nations.
