Apple foldable iPhone leaks spark fury over $2400 price and RAM downgrade

Apple plans to release its foldable iPhone during the second half of 2026, according to UBS analysts who shared preliminary specifications this week. The device will feature the A20 Pro processor built on TSMC's 2nm manufacturing process and utilize advanced WMCM packaging technology for improved efficiency. Samsung will supply crease-free OLED panels for both the 5.5-inch cover screen and the 7.8-inch inner display. The smartphone will incorporate Apple's C2 5G modem with mmWave capabilities and offer storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Despite the premium positioning, Apple appears to limit RAM to 12GB across all configurations.

The foldable iPhone will sacrifice certain features to achieve its innovative form factor, with Face ID reportedly absent due to design constraints. Camera specifications reveal a dual-lens system featuring 48-megapixel wide and ultrawide sensors while omitting telephoto capabilities. The device measures between 9 and 9.5 millimeters when folded and 4.5 to 4.8 millimeters when open. Manufacturing costs are projected to be $759, with retail pricing expected to be between $2,000 and $2,400. Industry observers note these specifications remain subject to change as the launch date approaches.
