Leaders talked about a major science competition at a big meeting on June 19. The CHALLENGE Prize received 632 entries from people across 40 different countries this year. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko shared how much the contest has grown. Foreign scientists sent almost 40 percent more applications than last time. The Discovery category drew the most attention from researchers around the world.
Scientists from 11 countries entered the Discovery competition with 155 total submissions. China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, America, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Brazil, India, Indonesia and Australia all sent entries. Russian researchers made up three-quarters of all applications. They came from 58 different regions across Russia. Natalia Tretyak from the organizing foundation said more people trust the competition each year.
