Archbishop Blasts Fake Communion Bread and Backs Voters

Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere told Ugandans they should vote without fear during upcoming elections. The church leader spoke during Holy Trinity Sunday Mass and called voting both a right and sacred duty. He said citizens must help their country through democratic participation. People who cannot reach polling stations should ask others to represent them. The Archbishop wants everyone to move together peacefully through the election process.

Church officials worry about unauthorized production of communion bread across Uganda. Ssemogerere called this practice a serious violation of church law that threatens spiritual traditions. Early missionaries once went three months without Mass because they lacked proper bread for the ceremony. Only three religious groups can legally make communion bread for Catholic churches. Church leaders plan to create a regulatory body that will oversee production of all religious materials.

The Archbishop asked people to seek peace and reconciliation during difficult times. He warned against letting bitterness control relationships with people who cause harm. Large crowds attended the Holy Trinity Sunday service at the cathedral. Ssemogerere thanked worshippers for showing strong support for the church. He said their presence proves the unity and strength of Catholic faith throughout Uganda.
