Ben Affleck shot the Armageddon goodbye scene while puking nonstop

Bruce Willis shared a massive space movie climax with a straight-up hurling Ben Affleck. The younger actor confessed he suffered from a brutal case of food poisoning during that tear-jerker finale for Armageddon. He felt way green regarding skipping work back then, and he assumed calling out sick was impossible.

That specific part of the plot involves Harry Stamper staying behind on an asteroid to save the planet. This rookie mistake led to him losing his lunch in private before returning to the camera. He thinks the physical misery actually improved his acting for the heartbreaking moment when his character, A.J. Frost, says goodbye.

The Michael Bay production featured a deep cast with names like Liv Tyler, Will Patton, and Billy Bob Thornton. Toward a Texas-sized asteroid, NASA sent industrial mining experts like William Fichtner, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Owen Wilson. It was a giant box office hit, even though critics gave it some heat.

Affleck recently ran into Steve Buscemi during a premiere event for a project titled The Rip. Seeing his old coworker brought back memories of their bizarre time working on the set together. They both chatted about the weird vibes of that high-stakes shoot, which somehow became the biggest movie of the year.
