Besigye Sudden Transfer Sparks State Kidnapping Claims

Dr. Kizza Besigye has moved from Luzira prison to a special clinic because he is very sick. The police put him in jail because they said he had guns and bullets he wasn't allowed to have. He went to court on Friday, and everyone saw that he didn't look well at all.

The people who run the prison called Dr. Besigye's family late one night. They asked the family to bring his own doctor to check on him. This was strange because before this, they never let his doctor see him. His family became very worried when they heard this news.

The doctors at The Clinic say Dr. Besigye is weak and needs lots of help to feel better. Many police officers stand guard outside the mall where the clinic is. They want to make sure everything stays calm.

A man from the government named Dr. Baryomunsi went to visit Dr. Besigye in prison. He told Dr. Besigye to start eating again and said they would move his case to a different court. But Dr. Besigye's wife became angry about this visit. She said Dr. Baryomunsi was part of the group keeping her husband in jail unfairly.

Dr. Besigye's family wants help from church leaders and people from other countries. They think the government broke the law by putting him in jail. They want everyone to know what is happening to him and help make things right.
