A 12-year-old boy vanished after leaving a Mandeville restaurant on Friday, and his guardians are appealing for help to find him. Jayden Thompson was last spotted at Little Caesars before he reportedly walked toward the Master Mac supermarket with another student and an unidentified woman. The Wales community resident had been involved in an accident the previous day when a toddler cousin fell and broke a hip while playing, but family members said they never scolded him.
Omar and Ann-marie Thompson raised Jayden since age 6, and they described him as quiet and academically gifted. The Manchester High School student finished as the top male performer in Primary Exit Profile exams before starting first form. Police received a missing person report, but the family expressed frustration about the response speed from some Mandeville officers.
School principal Jasford Gabriel said the community is searching for the boy, who stands about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a slim build and dark skin. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact Alligator Pond Police at 876-224-3113 or dial 119.
