Carlos Alcaraz withdraws from Toronto ATP Masters after Wimbledon loss to Sinner

Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Canadian tournament due to physical concerns. The world number two player requires rest after competing in multiple consecutive events without adequate recovery time. Muscle problems have prompted the Spanish athlete to prioritize his health over competition participation. His recent defeat against Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon marked the end of an intense playing schedule. The 22-year-old expressed regret about missing the Toronto event through social media channels.

Several top-ranked players have similarly abandoned their participation in the National Bank Open. Sinner and Novak Djokovic withdrew from the Masters 1000 tournament on Sunday for various reasons. British player Jack Draper also removed himself from consideration because of an arm injury. The Canadian competition will commence this Sunday and extend across twelve days. Tournament organizers scheduled the final match for August 7 despite the notable absences.
