Celtic eyes a scoring star to fix its messy January slump

Motherwell's goal machine is pulling serious attention from Celtic. Zimbabwean winger Tawanda Maswanhise, topping the Scottish scoring charts, had Hoops boss Martin O'Neill scouting his latest match. His instinctive finish secured a narrow victory for Motherwell, intensifying transfer rumors toward the decorated Scottish giants.

Manager Jens Berthel Askou insists his star player is not currently for sale. He stated the club feels no financial pressure to cash in, referencing a prior summer sale that stabilized their position. Askou believes Maswanhise's massive potential should keep growing with Motherwell before any future move.

The player joined the club on a short-term deal after his release from Leicester City. His immediate impact earned a long-term contract, tying him to Fir Park. Despite his club form, Maswanhise was initially benched for Zimbabwe's national team at the Africa Cup of Nations. He responded in a final group match with a superb goal against South Africa.
