Chinese mining firm donates 30000 dollars to upgrade hospital

A Chinese mining company has given $30,000 to fix up the hospital in Shurugwi. Chengetai Chenxi Investments wants to help the mortuary and maternity ward.

The hospital has no working mortuary right now. The last one stopped working after it was built in 2014. They have to use an old mortuary from before the country became independent.

With better mortuary space, people who die can be kept safely, which prevents diseases from spreading. The fixed-up maternity ward will help mothers before and after they have babies and make it safer when babies are born.

Simon Karimanzira runs the mining company. He told hospital staff and local people about the money. He said $20,000 will go to the mortuary and $10,000 to the maternity ward because both are in bad shape.

Karimanzira said helping with health care is important for companies. It shows they care about people near where they work. The help makes life better for everyone and helps the area grow.

The company plans to fix roads leading to the hospital and give school books to children in Shurugwi District.

Chief Nhema thanked the mining company for helping the community. He said the money will save the lives of mothers and babies, and more people will learn about having healthy babies.

The mining company also gave paint for Wha Wha Medium Prison and Connemara Open Prison. These places are being fixed up for the 45th Independence Day party in Nembudziya, Gokwe South District.

The government is making the prisons look better. These are places where freedom fighters were kept during the fight for independence. They are also fixing Mtapa Hall in Gweru for the big day.
