Dhoni biopic writer hits Uttarakhand trails for Ajey monk saga

Screenwriter Dilip Bachchan Jha has completed the script for Ajey about a monk's transformation into a political leader. Jha previously worked on M.S. Dhoni's biographical film and believes movies should reflect societal values. The upcoming project draws inspiration from Shantanu Gupta's bestselling book about Yogi Adityanath's remarkable journey. Jha traveled across Uttarakhand to research locations from the subject's early life. He visited Panchur, Rishikesh, and Kotdwar to understand the emotional aspects of this transformation.

The writer explored how a middle-class boy abandoned family connections to serve others. Jha discovered stories about the young man defending women's rights against college troublemakers. Actor Anant Joshi portrays the lead character while veteran Paresh Rawal plays a significant supporting role. The film aims to present the human elements behind this extraordinary life change. Cinemas will show Ajey on September 19, 2025.
