Effiong calls out Fubara over silly summons

Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong advised suspended Rivers State Governor Similayi Fubara to ignore a summons from the state's Sole Administrator. Effiong called the request absurd and unconstitutional, arguing that responding would undermine Fubara's credibility.

The summons, issued by Vice Admiral (rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas demanded that Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Ordu appear at the Government House in Port Harcourt. State Secretary Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika explained the summons related to an official inquiry into appointments made during Fubara's administration.

Effiong strongly criticized the move, describing it as an inappropriate attempt to challenge the governor's constitutional immunity. He suggested the action reflects broader political tensions in the current national governance landscape.
