Facing Blackouts Report Outages Fast With Kenya Power

When your lights go out, you can tell Kenya Power right away. Just dial *977# on your phone to report the problem and keep track of when they'll fix it. Another way is to grab the myPower App from the App Store or Google Play Store. Kenya Power promises they'll answer you completely or give you a number to follow up with within their promised timelines.

Kenya Power says they handle customer problems fast. To let them know about an issue, press *977#, pick "report incidences," choose what kind of problem you have, and say which type of account you use. Type your account number next, explain what caused the issue, and hit send. You'll receive a special reference number after you finish the report.

Kenya Power provides electricity to more than 9.6 million customers across Kenya today. They offer two different account choices: prepaid, which lets you control how much power you spend money on, and postpaid, which allows you to pay after you use the electricity. Prepaid helps you manage costs better, but postpaid allows you to pay bills later.

The company is a publicly traded business with mixed ownership. The government controls 50.1 percent, and local and foreign investors hold the other 49.9 percent. This mix of public and private money creates balanced leadership and planning that connects national goals with the best worldwide practices.

Kenya Power always warns people ahead of time about planned power cuts in neighborhoods. These breaks are necessary because crews must check and fix the systems regularly. The company posts these notices publicly before it turns off electricity for maintenance work.
