FIFA Sparks Major Revival in Zimbabwean Football

FIFA Helps Zimbabwe's Soccer Federation.

HARARE, Zimbabwe — The world's soccer group, FIFA, is helping Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe's soccer was in trouble for a while. Covid-19 stopped games in 2020. FIFA also paused Zimbabwe's membership for a bit.

But now, FIFA is working with Zimbabwe again. It chose some leaders to fix the problems. These leaders are called the Normalization Committee. FIFA and Zimbabwe's government made a special agreement to help.

FIFA is giving Zimbabwe money for many things. It will pay coaches for the next two years. This helps a lot because Zimbabwe had trouble paying coaches before.

FIFA also gave money to improve Zimbabwe's soccer building, the ZIFA Village. The building was old and not very nice. But soon, it will have new rooms, offices, and a place for meetings. Teams can stay there, too.

The leaders have 70 days to finish the first part of the work. They want to do a good job. Later, they will build soccer fields.

Other African countries got help from FIFA, too. It improved their soccer. Zimbabwe could be next. The people there love soccer. With FIFA's help, they could be the best.

Zimbabwe will soon pick new soccer leaders. The fixed-up building will be a good fresh start for them. They need to take good care of it. Zimbabwe's soccer should not have money problems again.
