FKF Condemns Attacks on Match Officials and Security

Kenya Soccer Body Slams Fan Violence After Stadium Attack.

Kenya's top soccer group spoke out this week against fan attacks on game officials and guards. The statement came after a new video showed more chaos at a match.

"These acts have no place in our sport," the Football Kenya Federation said. "We will punish those who break the rules."

The group plans to review each case through its courts. Leaders promise strict action against anyone who threatens players, refs, or guards at games.

A recent video sparked fresh outrage. It showed a fan running onto the field during a match between Migori Youth FC and Nairobi United. The man rushed at the ref after his team fell behind two goals.

The scene turned violent. The angry fan kicked a female police officer who tried to protect the ref. He then made threats toward other officers who stepped in to help.

"We know people worry about how refs call our games," the Federation said. "But refs play a key role in keeping matches fair."

The group vowed to create safe spaces for everyone involved in Kenyan soccer, including players, officials, staff, and fans at all levels of the sport.

Officials said they would meet soon to discuss the latest events. The Federation aims to stop these attacks before they harm the game's growth in Kenya.
