Kenya Leader Charts Path With Regional Chiefs.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua met on Monday with past leaders from Mt Kenya to discuss their future in politics.
"I spent time with many local leaders," Gachagua said. "We looked at what comes next as we enter the new year."
These talks helped them see where they stand. The group learned how they reached this point and found new ways to move forward.
Several past members of Parliament joined the meeting. Peter Mwathi came. Jude Njomo showed up. Others there were Wainanina Jungle, Ngunjiri Wambugu, Gichuhi Mwangi and Kabinga Wathayu.
Former local officials sat down with them. Kuria Karema shared views. Joseph Karichu spoke up. Mercy Nungari brought ideas. Muthoni Chikiru added thoughts. Juliah Wanjiku joined in. Livingstone Waiganjo came as well.
The group grew larger as more faces arrived. Kiambu leader Damaris Waiganjo took part. Young leaders stepped forward. Karanja Muchai made his mark. Theuri Wanjiru raised points. Peter Kinyanjui rounded out the team.
